State Street Ballet presents:
ROMEO & JULIET
Choreography: Rodney Gustafson
Music: Sergei Prokofiev
The most famous love story of all time. From love at first sight to the star-crossed climax, this classic romantic tale moves the heart.
Artistic Director, Rodney Gustafson retells William Shakespeare's poignant classic Romeo & Juliet with stylistic verve. Using Prokofiev's haunting score in a two-act version intensifies the drama. The result is spellbinding, fast paced action and enhanced empathy for the young lovers.
"Seamlessly melded together" pronounced Los Angeles Times reviewer Victoria Loosleaf when it premiered in 1997.
Romeo and Juliet explores the human spirit at its deepest levels. Though the couple's yearning to be together ends in tragedy, they live on as a pure example of eternal love.
